The OT-134 was a Soviet flame-thrower tank variant based on the T-26 chassis, produced in the mid-1930s as part of the Red Army's extensive programme of specialist armoured vehicles. It replaced the main gun turret with a flame-thrower unit, retaining a machine gun in a secondary turret for close-in defence. Soviet flame-thrower tanks saw combat in Finland during the Winter War of 1939–40, in the opening battles of Operation Barbarossa, and in the urban fighting of 1942–44, where their ability to clear bunkers and fortified buildings made them uniquely effective despite their vulnerability to enemy fire at the close ranges required for flame weapons use. The T-26-C designation was an alternative Soviet classification for the same vehicle family. Mirage Hobby's 1/35 kit captures this rare and brutal weapon in the detail this unusual subject merits.
The fire-breathing T-26 — the Soviet flame-thrower tank that cleared the way in close combat.
