HMS Anchusa (K186) was a Flower-class corvette commissioned in 1941 to serve in the Battle of the Atlantic — the longest continuous military campaign of the Second World War and the one on which Britain's survival depended. The Flower class were built to a merchant ship design specifically so that commercial shipyards could construct them rapidly enough to keep pace with U-boat losses; over 260 were eventually completed for the Royal Navy and Allied navies. HMS Anchusa served in convoy escort duties in the North Atlantic, where conditions aboard these small, lively vessels in winter weather tested crews to their physical limits. Mirage Hobby's 1/350 kit faithfully represents her operational fit, offering naval modellers an authentic piece of the Atlantic campaign.
