The Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk — the RAF designation for early P-40B and C variants supplied under Lend-Lease — served with Commonwealth air forces in the Western Desert, East Africa, and the Far East from 1941 onwards. Less capable than the Spitfire or Hurricane in the high-altitude air superiority role, the Tomahawk nonetheless proved effective at medium and low altitudes and was the mount of the American Volunteer Group — the Flying Tigers — in China, where it became famous for its shark-mouth nose art. Novo's rebox of the Frog P-40 tooling captures the Tomahawk in 1/72 scale, a vintage kit in the classic tradition of British short-run aviation modelling.
