The Mitsubishi Starion was Japan's answer to the European GT coupes of the early 1980s — a turbocharged rear-wheel-drive sports coupe that Mitsubishi developed into a formidable Group A competitor for the Japan Touring Car Championship. The 1985 Inter TEC at Fuji Speedway was one of the landmark events of Japanese motorsport — an international invitation race that brought foreign teams and machinery to Japan to compete against the best of the domestic teams, and the Starion's turbo power made it a genuine front-runner on Fuji's long straights. NuNu's 1/24 kit captures this specific Fuji entry with full race livery and the engineering detail that has established NuNu as the definitive source for Japanese touring car subjects.
