The Kurganets-25 is one of Russia's next-generation tracked infantry fighting vehicles, unveiled at the 2015 Moscow Victory Day parade as part of a family of modern armoured platforms intended to replace the ageing BMP-2 in Russian service. Developed under the Object 693 designation, the Kurganets-25 features a low-profile unmanned turret, advanced composite armour, and a hull designed to provide significantly better protection than its predecessors against modern anti-armour threats. Its public debut generated considerable interest in Western defence circles — the vehicle represented a substantial step forward in Russian armoured vehicle design after decades of incremental improvement on Cold War-era platforms.
