The Sukhoi Su-15 UM Flagon-G was the two-seat conversion trainer variant of the Su-15 interceptor family, developed to give pilots dual-control experience of the type's demanding handling characteristics before solo operations. The Su-15's high landing speed and narrow operating envelope made it a difficult aircraft to transition onto from conventional fighters, and the UM's tandem dual-control cockpit allowed instructors to accompany students through the critical phases of training. As with the single-seat variants, the Su-15 UM served exclusively with the Soviet Air Defence Forces and was never exported, making it a niche but rewarding subject for modellers interested in Cold War Soviet aviation. PM Model's 1/72 kit is a companion piece to their Flagon-F release.
