RS Models’ 1/72 scale Arado Ar 199 Late Version model kit recreates a lesser-known German floatplane of the Second World War. Kit 92272 depicts the later configuration of this compact aircraft, offering an interesting subject for collections focused on maritime aviation, training aircraft and air-sea rescue.
Originally developed as a naval trainer, the Ar 199 featured a low-wing layout, twin floats and an enclosed cockpit with side-by-side seating for instructor and pupil. The type also served in wartime rescue operations, including in northern European waters. Its training and rescue duties offer a different perspective on German aviation beyond the more familiar fighters and bombers.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Unless otherwise stated these models will need some construction and painting. Glues and paints are not included.
