The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle was developed to give US forces a protected, mobile alternative to older light tactical vehicles. The M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier is a weapons-carrier variant associated with the US Marine Corps. Rye Field Model’s 1/35 USMC JLTV M1278A1 HGC (RM-5149) makes a contemporary subject for a modern military vehicle display or diorama, far removed from the tanks of the Second World War.
