Special Hobby 1/72 Focke Wulf Fw 189B-0/B-1 'Luftwaffe Trainer' (SH72430)

The Focke-Wulf Fw 189 Uhu (Owl) is best known as the Luftwaffe’s principal short-range reconnaissance aircraft — a twin-boom, twin-engine design with a heavily glazed central nacelle that gave its crew exceptional all-round visibility. The B-0 and B-1 were trainer variants, replacing the central observation nacelle with a more conventional enclosed fuselage to create a multi-seat crew trainer — an almost unrecognisable transformation that makes the B-series one of the more unusual subjects in German aviation. Only a handful were built and the type is rarely modelled; Special Hobby’s short-run kit is effectively the only game in town for this variant in 1/72.
