A new chapter in the Ninja story
Introduced in 2000, the ZX-12R combined a 1199cc inline-four engine with fuel injection and ram-air induction. Kawasaki's aluminium monocoque frame was a distinctive engineering feature, departing from the more familiar twin-spar layout used by many contemporary sports motorcycles.
The ZX-12R arrived amid intense competition in the high-performance motorcycle market. Rather than a race-homologation special like Honda's RC30, it was a large-capacity road-going flagship, designed around powerful acceleration, aerodynamic bodywork and high-speed capability.
A subject for a modern motorcycle collection
