The 3.7cm PaK 35/36 was Germany's standard anti-tank gun at the outbreak of the Second World War — a light, easily manhandled weapon that had been effective against the tanks of the 1930s but was already being rendered inadequate by the appearance of the Matilda II and Char B1 in 1940, earning the nickname Heeresanklopfgerät (“army door-knocker”) from frustrated German crews. Despite its limitations against heavier Allied armour, the PaK 35/36 remained in service throughout the war in secondary theatres and airborne units, and it equips the crew figures that accompany Tamiya's classic little kit.
