The British Light Utility Car 10HP — based on the Standard Flying Ten civilian chassis — was one of the many requisitioned and lightly modified civilian vehicles that filled the British Army’s transport requirements in the early war years, serving as staff cars, signals vehicles, and general light transport across all theatres. Modest, reliable, and utterly unglamorous, the 10HP Utility Car represents the essential but overlooked logistics backbone of the British Army — the vehicle that carried the signals, the orders, and the staff officers without which the fighting vehicles could not function. Tamiya’s 1/35 kit is a rare treatment of this uncommon but historically important vehicle.
