The SAS Land Rover Series IIA — known universally as the Pink Panther from its distinctive pink desert camouflage scheme tested (and retained) after trials showed it provided the best concealment in the Middle Eastern desert environment — was the primary patrol vehicle of 22 SAS throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s. Bristling with weapons, fuel jerricans, and equipment, each Pink Panther was individually configured to its crew’s preferences, and the variation between vehicles is as characteristic as the vehicles themselves. Tamiya’s 1/35 kit captures one of the most evocative and recognisable special forces vehicles ever produced.
The most famous special forces vehicle ever built — SAS Pink Panther Land Rover in 1/35 scale.
