Tamiya 1/350 British Battleship Prince of Wales (78011)

HMS Prince of Wales was one of the Royal Navy’s most modern battleships when she fought Bismarck in the Denmark Strait on 24 May 1941 — so new that civilian dockyard workers were still aboard completing her fitting out when she opened fire. She scored hits on Bismarck that contributed to the German ship’s eventual destruction, then sailed to Singapore as a symbol of British power in the Far East before being sunk alongside HMS Repulse on 10 December 1941 by Japanese land-based torpedo bombers — the first capital ships sunk by air attack alone while underway in the open sea. Tamiya’s 1/350 kit captures Prince of Wales in full hull form in her 1941 configuration.
The battleship that fought Bismarck and paid for it in the Pacific — HMS Prince of Wales in 1/350 scale.
