USS Enterprise CV-6 — “The Big E” — was the most decorated US Navy ship of the Second World War and the only pre-war fleet carrier to serve from Pearl Harbor to the Japanese surrender, fighting in every major naval campaign of the Pacific War. At Midway, the Eastern Solomons, Santa Cruz, and the Philippine Sea, Enterprise was present at the turning points of the naval war, and the Japanese reported her sunk on no fewer than four separate occasions. She is the most famous American warship of the twentieth century, and Tamiya's 1/700 Waterline Series kit captures the Big E in her wartime configuration with full deck detail.
