The Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a was one of the finest fighter aircraft of the First World War — fast, strong, and stable enough to make a steady gun platform, while still capable of the manoeuvres needed to survive in combat. Flown by the RFC and RAF’s top aces including Albert Ball, James McCudden, and Edward “Mick” Mannock, the S.E.5a was the aircraft in which many of Britain’s highest scorers achieved their victories. Introduced in 1917 with the Hispano-Suiza engine, it served through the Armistice and was considered by many pilots who flew both types to be superior to the Camel in most respects except rate of turn.

This is a vintage kit from 1958, and it shows signs of its age - see photos. Kit is complete and un-started. Instructions and decals are missing. Instructions can be downloaded from Scalemates or similar.
