HMS Belfast was a Town-class light cruiser preserved today on the Thames as part of the Imperial War Museum — the last surviving example of the large cruisers that fought in the Arctic convoys, at the Battle of North Cape where she helped sink the Scharnhorst, and in the Normandy bombardment. In her 1942 configuration she carried the armament and radar fit of the mid-war period after her extensive repair from the 1939 magnetic mine damage that had broken her keel. Trumpeter’s 1/350 kit provides a large-scale treatment of this famous and beloved warship, with comprehensive hull and superstructure detail at a scale that allows full justice to the Town-class design.
The cruiser now preserved on the Thames — HMS Belfast 1942 in 1/350 scale.
