HMS Dreadnought in her 1918 configuration represents the ship at the end of her operational life — by then obsolete in the capital ship role she had defined, replaced by the more powerful super-dreadnoughts she had inspired and reduced to coast defence duties on the Thames. Her most notable act of the First World War had come in 1915 when she rammed and sank the German submarine U-29 — the only battleship in history to sink a submarine by ramming. Trumpeter’s 1/700 kit of the 1918 Dreadnought captures the wartime modifications and the final appearance of the ship that changed naval history.
