HMS Monmouth F235 is a Type 23 Duke-class frigate — one of the Royal Navy’s most capable and widely exported frigate designs, combining a low radar signature hull form with a CODLAG propulsion system, Sea Wolf or Sea Ceptor missiles, a 4.5-inch gun, and facilities for a Merlin or Lynx helicopter. The Type 23 class has provided the backbone of the Royal Navy’s surface fleet since the 1990s and has seen service in the Falklands patrol, the Gulf, and multiple NATO deployments. Trumpeter’s 1/700 kit captures this modern frigate with accurate hull and superstructure detail.
