HMS Montrose F236 is a Type 23 Duke-class frigate that has served in some of the Royal Navy’s most prominent recent operations — including Persian Gulf patrol duties during the 2019 tanker crisis where she was involved in the escorting of British flagged vessels under Iranian pressure. The Type 23 class represents the current backbone of the Royal Navy’s frigate force, combining anti-submarine warfare capability, surface warfare, and air defence in a compact hull of under 5,000 tonnes. Trumpeter’s 1/700 kit offers accurate representation of this modern Royal Navy warship.
