HMS Belfast was a Town-class light cruiser that served throughout the Second World War and is today preserved on the Thames as part of the Imperial War Museum — the last surviving example of the large Royal Navy cruisers that fought in the Arctic convoys, at the Battle of North Cape, and in the Normandy bombardment. In her 1942 configuration she carried the armament and equipment of the mid-war period, having been repaired after severe mine damage sustained in 1939 that kept her out of action for nearly three years. Trumpeter’s 1/700 kit captures Belfast in her 1942 refit configuration.
The cruiser now preserved on the Thames — HMS Belfast 1942 in 1/700 scale.
