The Tiger I Early Production represents the tank as it appeared in its first combat deployments in 1942 and early 1943 — the rubber-rimmed road wheels, the early pattern commander’s cupola, and the absence of Zimmerit paste that distinguish the initial production vehicles from later examples. Early Tigers were committed to both the Eastern Front and Tunisia, where their 88mm gun and thick armour made them formidable opponents for Allied tank crews even if their mechanical unreliability and fuel consumption proved operationally challenging. Trumpeter’s 1/72 kit captures the early Tiger with accurate initial-production details.
