The BA-9 was a Soviet six-wheeled medium armoured car of the early 1930s, developed as part of the rapid expansion of the Red Army’s motorised and armoured forces under the first Five Year Plan. Armed with a 37mm gun, the BA-9 represented an early step in the development of the BA series of Soviet armoured cars that culminated in the BA-10 and BA-64. Soviet armoured cars of this period served in the Spanish Civil War, the Far East conflicts with Japan, and in the early battles of the Great Patriotic War. UM Models’ 1/72 kit captures this early Soviet armoured car for collectors of interwar and early-war subjects.
