The BT-6 was an experimental Soviet light tank of the BT series — a development step between the BT-5 and BT-7 in the Christie-suspension fast tank lineage that formed the core of Soviet armoured power in the 1930s. Soviet light tank development during this period proceeded through rapid incremental improvement, each mark refining the hull, armament, and powerplant of the Christie design purchased from the American inventor J. Walter Christie in 1930. The BT-6 represents one of the experimental steps in this development that did not reach production status, making it an unusual and collector-oriented modelling subject. UM Models’ 1/72 kit captures this rare experimental Soviet tank.
