The T-31 was an American experimental demolition tank — an armoured vehicle designed to place explosive charges against fortifications, obstacles, and enemy strong points under fire, reducing the exposure of combat engineers to direct fire during breaching operations. Demolition tank development was part of the broader American programme of combat engineering armoured vehicles that produced the T1 mine exploder, the T1E3 Aunt Jemima roller, and a range of other specialist armoured engineer vehicles. UM Models’ 1/72 kit captures this unusual and less commonly modelled specialist American armoured engineering vehicle.
