The Fokker Eindecker was the aircraft that gave Germany its first period of air superiority over the Western Front in 1915–16 — the first fighter to be fitted with a synchronised machine gun firing through the propeller arc, a development that transformed aerial combat and created the “Fokker Scourge” that dominated Allied aviators for months. The E.III was the most produced and most capable Eindecker variant, flown by aces including Max Immelmann and Oswald Boelcke who developed the tactics and manoeuvres of air fighting that are still studied today. In 1/144 scale, Valom’s kit captures the aircraft that began the fighter era in beautifully compact form.
