The Avro Anson XIX was the final and most refined civil variant of the Anson — a pressurised-cabin development that entered service with British European Airways and a range of charter and private operators after the war, offering a degree of comfort and altitude capability not available in the earlier military versions. The Anson served the RAF from 1936 to 1968 in a remarkable range of roles, and the civil variants represent the type’s productive post-war second career carrying passengers and freight across Europe and beyond. Valom’s 1/72 kit captures the Anson XIX in civilian markings, a refreshing change from the ubiquitous wartime trainer and coastal patrol schemes.
