The Heinkel He 119 was a remarkable experimental high-speed reconnaissance aircraft of the late 1930s — a twin-boom, push-pull design with a coupled pair of Daimler-Benz engines driving a single nose propeller through a long extension shaft, capable of speeds that outpaced contemporary fighters and intended to demonstrate the feasibility of the high-speed unarmed reconnaissance concept. The V5 floatplane variant explored maritime reconnaissance applications for this advanced airframe. Though the He 119 never reached production, its innovative layout and performance influenced later German aircraft design. Valom’s 1/72 kit is one of the very few models of this rarely represented Heinkel prototype.
