The Eagle IV is a Swiss-designed mine-protected armoured patrol vehicle that entered service with the Bundeswehr as its standard light protected patrol vehicle, widely used in Afghanistan and other operational theatres for convoy escort, patrol, and force protection duties. The 2011 production standard incorporates the ballistic and mine protection improvements developed through operational experience in Afghanistan, where the Eagle IV proved its capability against IED threats that destroyed lighter vehicles. The Deluxe Edition of Vespid Models’ 1/35 kit offers the serious modeller the most complete treatment of this important modern German armoured vehicle, with the detail parts and markings options to create a convincing operational subject.
