The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer late production incorporated the detail changes introduced across the production run as manufacturing was streamlined and combat feedback was incorporated — including modifications to the gun mantlet, exhaust system, and other details that distinguish late vehicles from the earlier batches. The Hetzer was one of Germany’s most successful tank destroyers, combining the reliable 38(t) chassis with well-sloped armour and a gun adequate to deal with most Allied armour in the defensive fighting of 1944–45.
