The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer was Germany’s most produced tank destroyer of the Second World War — compact, well-sloped, and armed with the 75mm PaK 39 gun that could defeat most Allied armour at combat ranges. The mittlere (mid) production variant represents the Hetzer as it appeared through the middle of its production run, incorporating early production changes while predating the later detail modifications of the final batches. Hetzers served on both Eastern and Western Fronts from mid-1944, proving highly effective in the defensive battles of the war’s final year. Vespid Models’ 1/72 kit captures the mid-production Hetzer with the detail and accuracy that characterises this manufacturer’s small-scale armour range.
