The Leopard 2A7V is the current production standard of Germany’s main battle tank — the most advanced iteration of the Leopard 2 lineage that has continuously evolved since the original Leopard 2 entered Bundeswehr service in 1979. The 2A7V incorporates Trophy active protection system provisions, improved armour packages, enhanced mine protection for the hull floor, and updated electronics and situational awareness systems that keep it at the leading edge of contemporary armour technology. The Leopard 2 family is operated by over a dozen NATO and partner nations and the 2A7V represents its current peak of capability. Vespid Models’ 1/72 kit captures the 2A7V in its current Bundeswehr configuration.
