The Panther Ausf.F was the planned final production variant of the Panther — incorporating the new Schmalturm (narrow turret) with improved ballistic protection and a rangefinder, designed to reduce the frontal target area and improve the crew’s ability to engage at long range. Only a handful of Ausf.F hulls were completed before the German collapse in 1945, making the Ausf.F one of the rarest and most collectible Panther variants. Armed with the standard 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun that made the Panther such a formidable opponent, the Ausf.F represents the pinnacle of German medium tank development. Vespid Models’ 1/72 kit captures this rare final-production Panther in finely detailed small-scale form.
