The Tiger I early production variant represents the Panzerkampfwagen VI at its most technically complex and mechanically demanding — the first batches incorporating features later simplified for easier manufacture, including the distinctive early commander’s cupola, early-pattern road wheels, and other details that distinguish the initial production run from later Tigers. The Tiger I’s combination of 88mm gun and thick armour gave it a battlefield presence far beyond its numbers, and early production vehicles saw action at Leningrad, in Tunisia, and on the Eastern Front. The “Lucky Tiger” Special Edition adds collector-oriented content to Vespid Models’ finely detailed 1/72 kit of this iconic German heavy tank.
