Airfix 1/48 Westland Sea King HC.4 (A11008)

Make the Royal Navy's Sea King 'Commando' a centrepiece of your helicopter collection with the Airfix 1/48 Westland Sea King HC.4, kit A11008. This larger-scale release represents the tactical transport variant used to deliver, supply and extract troops, rather than the dedicated search-and-rescue versions of the wider Sea King family.

Based on Airfix's 2023 Sea King tooling, this release adds parts specific to the HC.4. These include its distinctive undercarriage without the large side sponsons of earlier variants, revised cabin components and seating, and antenna and countermeasures details associated with its operational role.

The kit comprises 289 plastic parts and provides four marking schemes. Folding rotor blades and tail allow a shipboard-style display, while open or closed door options give you a choice of how to present the cabin. A GPMG mount and cockpit detail add further interest for builders who enjoy working on interiors.

Airfix rates this 1/48 scale model at skill level 4, making it a more involved project than the smaller 1/72 Sea King. Manufacturer: Airfix; kit reference: A11008. Assembly and painting are required, with glue and paints supplied separately.
