The Bf 109G-5 AS was a high-altitude specialist variant fitted with the DB 605AS supercharged engine, optimised for interception duties at extreme altitudes against high-flying reconnaissance aircraft and bombers. AZmodel's 1/72 kit captures the G-5 AS with its distinctive tall supercharger intake and authentic Luftwaffe high-altitude unit markings. A specialist variant subject for serious Gustav collectors.
