The early-production Bf 109G-5 retained features from the preceding G-4, including the earlier canopy type and without the later bulged cowl panels of the mid-production aircraft. AZmodel's 1/72 kit captures these early production details with authentic Luftwaffe markings, distinguishing it from the later G-5 AS high-altitude variant. A useful variant refinement for dedicated Gustav collectors.
