Eduard's 1/48 ProfiPACK Spitfire Mk.XVI High Back (kit 8286) depicts the Packard Merlin 266-powered variant with the original high-back fuselage and Malcolm hood, used primarily by 2nd TAF for ground attack and escort duties over Northwest Europe in 1944–45. The Mk.XVI was essentially an American-engined Mk.IX, making it numerically significant as a late-war RAF fighter. ProfiPACK includes photo-etched parts and multiple 2nd TAF marking options.
