The Grunau Baby was one of the most widely flown training gliders in the world, designed in the late 1920s by Edmund Schneider at Grunau (now Jelenia Góra, Poland) and produced in large numbers across Europe and beyond. The SNCAN Nord 1300 was the French-built version, manufactured by SNCAN (Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Nord) post-war for French aero clubs and gliding schools. Simple, forgiving, and elegant, the Grunau Baby introduced thousands of pilots to soaring flight. This Fly 1/48 kit (48027) captures the graceful lines of the French Nord 1300 variant with period-accurate markings — a charming and unusual subject for any aviation collection.
