The MIM-23 Hawk (Homing All the Way Killer) entered US Army service in 1960 as the first radar-guided medium-range surface-to-air missile, and became the cornerstone of NATO ground-based air defence throughout the Cold War. The M192 is the wheeled towed launcher unit, carrying three Hawk missiles in ready-to-fire position. The system saw combat during the 1973 Yom Kippur War with Israeli forces, claiming numerous kills, and remained in service with many nations into the 2000s. This Fore Art 1/72 kit (R5903) depicts the M192 launcher and pairs with the tracked M727 carrier kit (R5902) available in the ForeArt range.
