Frog 1/72 Fairey Gannet A.S. Mk I or Mk 4 (F228)

The Fairey Gannet was a distinctive Royal Navy carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft powered by the remarkable Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba — two turboprops mounted back-to-back, each driving one half of a contra-rotating propeller. This arrangement allowed one engine to be shut down in cruise for fuel economy. The A.S. Mk 1 entered service in 1955 as the Fleet Air Arm's dedicated sub-hunter; the Mk 4 followed with updated equipment. This vintage Frog 1/72 kit (F228) offers the choice of both variants, capturing the Gannet's unmistakeable portly fuselage and folding wings.
