The Grumman TBF Avenger was the most successful torpedo bomber of World War II, serving with the US Navy, Royal Navy, and RNZAF across every major theatre from 1942 onwards. The Mk II was the Fleet Air Arm's designation for the TBF-1C variant, operated from British carriers in the Atlantic and Pacific. The Avenger is also notable as the aircraft in which a young George H.W. Bush was shot down over Chichi Jima in 1944. This vintage Frog 1/72 kit (F244) captures the Avenger's characteristically rotund fuselage and large internal torpedo bay.
This is a vintage model kit. Box shows signs of age-related storage — see photos. Kit appears complete, but please look at the photos carefully. Instructions and decals are present.
