The Messerschmitt Me 410 Hornisse (Hornet) was a twin-engine heavy fighter and fast bomber that entered Luftwaffe service in 1943, replacing the troubled Me 210. Armed with an impressive array of forward-firing guns and a pair of rearward-facing remote-controlled barbettes, it was used for bomber-destroyer duties against USAAF daylight raids and anti-shipping operations over the English Channel. This vintage Frog 1/72 kit (F178) captures the Me 410's sleek lines and distinctive twin-tail boom configuration.
