The Tupolev SB-2 was one of the most advanced medium bombers in the world when it entered service in 1936, and it saw its combat debut almost immediately — flying for the Republican side in the Spanish Civil War, where Nationalist forces nicknamed it the "Katyuska". It went on to serve with the Soviet Air Force in the Winter War against Finland and in the opening stages of Operation Barbarossa, by which point it was hopelessly outclassed by Luftwaffe fighters. This vintage Frog 1/72 kit (F176) captures this significant interwar Soviet bomber in classic mid-century moulding.
This is a vintage model kit. Box shows signs of age-related storage — see photos. Kit has no flight stand, but please look at the photos carefully. Instructions and decals are present.
