The Hawker Typhoon began its career as a troubled interceptor but found its true vocation as the RAF's most devastating ground-attack aircraft. Armed with four 20mm Hispano cannon and up to eight 60lb rocket projectiles, the Typhoon I.B. wreaked havoc on German armour, transport, and radar installations from 1943 onwards. Its finest hour came during the Falaise Gap battles of August 1944, where Typhoon squadrons played a decisive role in destroying the retreating German 7th Army. This vintage Frog 1/72 kit (F231) captures the Typhoon's characteristically deep radiator chin and car-door cockpit.
This is a vintage model kit. Box shows signs of age-related storage — see photos. Kit appears complete, but please look at the photos carefully. Instructions and decals are present.
