One of the most iconic and emotive images of the Normandy campaign was that of Scottish regimental pipers playing their men ashore or into battle — a tradition that continues in the British Army to this day. Several Highland regiments fought in Normandy from D-Day onwards, including the 51st Highland Division, whose pipers were a famous morale fixture throughout the NW Europe campaign. This Gecko Models 1/35 set (35GM0006) captures a Highland piper and accompanying infantrymen in period-accurate uniform and equipment, making it a stirring centrepiece for any Normandy diorama.
