The Supermarine Spitfire needs no introduction — Britain's most iconic fighter aircraft and the defender of the skies during the Battle of Britain. The Mk.IX was the variant that restored parity with the formidable Focke-Wulf Fw 190 when it appeared in 1942, becoming the most produced mark of the entire Spitfire family and serving with RAF, Commonwealth, and Allied air forces across every theatre of the war. With its trademark elliptical wings, Merlin engine growl, and beautifully harmonious lines, the Spitfire Mk.IXc is one of the all-time great modelling subjects. Hasegawa's 1/48 kit delivers it with crisp, finely moulded components and a comprehensive decal sheet covering multiple squadron markings.
