Hasegawa 1/72 He51B-2 Heinkel (B16)

The Heinkel He 51B-2 was the floatplane variant of Germany's Luftwaffe biplane fighter, fitted with twin floats for shipborne and coastal operations during the mid-1930s. While the land-based He 51 served as Germany's first-line fighter before being superseded by the Bf 109, the B-2 floatplane version adds an extra dimension of modelling interest with its distinctive twin-float undercarriage — a rare configuration for a fighter aircraft of any era. The He 51 saw combat in the Spanish Civil War, giving the nascent Luftwaffe its first operational experience of modern aerial warfare. This Hasegawa 1/72 kit captures the floatplane variant's characteristic lines with accurate mouldings and Luftwaffe markings.
