The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Nachtjäger was an improvised but surprisingly effective night fighter adaptation of the standard A-5 and A-6 airframes, fitted with exhaust flame dampers and sometimes a basic radar or searchlight to intercept the RAF's nightly bombing raids over the Reich. Operating under the Wilde Sau ("Wild Boar") tactics pioneered by Major Hajo Herrmann, single-engine Fw 190 and Bf 109 pilots hunted bombers illuminated by searchlights and burning cities below. In 1/32 scale, Hobby 2000's kit captures the atmospheric dark night fighter schemes and the subtle modifications that distinguished Nachtjäger aircraft from their daytime counterparts.
A dramatic and unusual large-scale build for night fighter or Luftwaffe defence of the Reich specialists.
