The Arado 234 was the world's first operational jet-powered bomber, and its debut over Allied lines in 1944 was a sobering demonstration of what German technology could produce even at this late stage of the war. The B-2 variant was the principal production model, flying reconnaissance and bombing missions with virtual impunity — no Allied fighter could reliably catch it. The "First Jets" marking options in this Hobby 2000 1/48 kit capture specific aircraft from the pioneering units that introduced the Arado to combat, making it a collector's piece as much as a modelling challenge. Crisp moulding and fine surface detail do justice to this historically important aircraft.
